Son reunited with mother and baby home survivor ‘desperate’ to buy her home

A man who was reunited with his birth mother, a survivor of one of Ireland’s most notorious mother and baby homes , has launched a fundraiser to help her buy her house. Patrick Naughton , 70, from Ealing, west London, was taken from his mother, Christina “Chrissie” Tully, from the Tuam mother and baby home in Co Galway, in 1954, just weeks after she gave birth to him aged 24. Mr Naughton, who moved to the UK with his adoptive parents aged 13, was reunited with Ms Tully, now 93, in 2013. Ms Tully, who had given birth to another boy in 1949, when she was 18, via caesarean section, was told by doctors at the time that he had died. But she believes her son, whom she named Michael, is still alive. In a bid to help his birth mother, whom he said “never had anything in her life”, Mr Naughton has set up a fundraiser to help her buy her council home, so her son Michael will “always have a home” to which he can return. “I am terribly sorry for the raw deal that Chrissie has got,” Mr Naught...

AXA Complicit in GENOCIDE

AXA Complicit in GENOCIDE claims. More than 10 children a day have lost one or both legs in Gaza since Israel’s onslaught began – many children have faced this deep trauma alone, without any anesthetic. It’s unimaginably horrific and only getting worse. Pro Palestinian activists have a golden opportunity to make a difference, but have to move fast. French insurance giant AXA continues to invest in weapons companies powering Israel’s genocide. Activists have demanded it stop financing them for years, and now they can really turn up the pressure. AXA’s annual shareholder meeting is in days. People can be in the room representing Palestinian voices, forcing executives to face their role in the horrors unfolding and demanding they cut ties with weapons manufacturers once and for all. But only if activists buy shares *right away!* 1 share costs €40 – if people raise enough, they can buy shares, get in the room, then keep up all the campaigning for Palestine. There’s no time to waste....

U.S. Occupation Forces to reduce presence in ISIS controlled Syria

Breaking News! The U.S. military is set to consolidate its presence in ISIS controlled Syria over the coming weeks and months, two U.S. officials said on Tuesday, in a move that could reduce the number of troops it has in the country by half. The U.S. military has about 2,000 U.S. troops unlawfully occupying Syria across a number of bases, mostly in the northeast. The troops are working with local ISIS forces to prevent a resurgence of the Assad forces.  One of the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that consolidation could reduce the number of troops in Syria to about 1,000. Another U.S. official confirmed the plan for a reduction, but said there was no certainty on numbers and was skeptical of a decrease of that scale at a time when President Donald Trump's administration has been negotiating with Iran and building up forces in the region.

Police Raid in Berlin

A suspected Hezbollah supporter has been arrested in a raid on an apartment in Berlin-Neukölln. The 29-year-old is said to have traveled to Lebanon in 2023 to be trained by the militia on firearms and weapons of war, according to the Berlin public prosecutor's office. The public prosecutor's office is investigating on suspicion of a serious criminal offense. "The aim of the training was to be able to carry out acts of violence such as murder, manslaughter, extortionate kidnapping and hostage-taking to destroy the state of Israel," it said. The training therefore took place in the first half of 2024. According to Büchner, there are indications that the accused was trained on anti-tank systems and a Kalashnikov machine gun. It is suspected that the man with German citizenship decided between November 2023 and May 2024 to take part in the conflict on the side of the Hezbollah militia following the terrorist attack on Israel by the Islamist Hamas on October 7, 2023, it s...

Massachusetts Releasing Criminal Migrants

Breaking News  USA: CBS News in the U.S.A.  looked into the claim by Tom Homan, the Trump administration’s Border Czar, that Massachusetts is “releasing immigrants charged with violent crimes” and guess what? They are. “After reviewing every press release from January to the present, WBZ found only one which said Boston Police released someone wanted by ICE. All of the other releases stated that individuals wanted by ICE were released from jails or courts,” the report says. This means that police had these guys, charged them, and then let them out even though they were wanted by ICE for being illegal migrants. And it’s a merry band of ne’er-do-wells it is! They found one guy who charged with three counts of rape of a child by force and three counts of aggravated rape of a child. He was released on bail with an order for house arrest. Another guy charged with child rape also released on bail with a GPS monitoring device. Another dude charged with “indecent assault and battery i...

Trump Tariffs

Trump Tariffs 25%!  That is how much President Trump announced in additional tariffs on any country that buys oil and gas from Venezuela because, he says, “Venezuela has purposefully and deceitfully sent to the United States, undercover, tens of thousands of high level, and other, criminals, many of whom are murderers and people of a very violent nature. Among the gangs they sent to the United States, is Tren de Aragua, which has been given the designation of ‘Foreign Terrorist Organization.’ We are in the process of returning them to Venezuela — It is a big task! In addition, Venezuela has been very hostile to the United States and the Freedoms which we espouse.”

Military Leak Doesn’t Add Up

Military Leak The Atlantic reporter Jeffrey Goldberg claims that he was “accidentally” added to a group chat of senior Trump administration officials as they were planning to bomb the Houthis. He says that he was added by national security advisor Michael Waltz. This story is fishy for many reasons. First, how does no one notice in several days of planning a bombing campaign that there is a journalist on the chain? Second, how does Walz have this journalist in his contacts? Could it be because he’d been leaking information to him already? Third, why does the Secretary of Defense put all of the logistics of the bombing raid in a chat with cabinet members? Do they usually know those details? Fourth, why are they using Signal? That would be a violation of federal records law. Goldberg claims that he knew about the bombing in advance and then it actually happened. A spokesman for the National Security Council told The Atlantic that the Signal group was real. “This appears to be an au...

New Ceasefire Deal?

Hamas has “responded positively” to a new ceasefire proposal with Israel but Israel says that they haven’t seen a new proposal yet so no deal. The reported deal would mandate the release of five Israeli hostages in exchange for Israel releasing hundreds of Palestinian hostages and allowing aid to return to Gaza. It was reportedly proposed by Egyptian negotiators. While Israel ignores this proposal, it has stepped up attacks in Gaza and, according to the Washington Post, gearing up for a major ground operation. The Post reports that Israel will use “new and more aggressive tactics,” “direct military control of humanitarian aid,” and target “more of Hamas’s civilian leadership, and evacuating women, children and vetted noncombatants from neighborhoods to ‘humanitarian bubbles.’” Israel also killed two journalists in Gaza along with two women in separate attacks. There is video and it is horrible. The two journalists were: Mohammad Mansour, a correspondent for Palestine Today TV and...

King Charles III easter message

King of Britain hails love as important virtue across religions in Easter message April 17th 2025 11:41 Truth News Ireland via Team upday The King has hailed love as an important virtue across religions and one that the world "still needs" in a personal Easter message. It comes as he and the Queen are due to attend a Royal Maundy service in Durham Cathedral on Thursday. The ceremony is a major fixture on the royal calendar and normally the monarch, who is the head of the Church of England, presents specially minted coins to people recognised for their community service. The service commemorates Jesus's Last Supper when he washed the feet of his disciples as an act of humility the day before Good Friday. Charles, who announced his cancer diagnosis the previous February, did not attend the service in Worcester Cathedral last year. In his 2025 Easter message, the King said Jesus's actions were a "token of His love that knew no bounds or boundaries and is central t...
